Jerry is a telecom industry executive with over 30 years of sales and operations experience at both venture startups and in leadership positions at large companies like Cisco Systems and Nortel. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he was a Telecom Engineer, and served tours in Europe and Asia. Once in the private sector, he participated in the buildout of the first cellular networks in Latin America including Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil. During that time, he became a resident of Mexico.
In 1997, Jerry and his wife, Yazmin, relocated to South Florida where they raised their two children and attended First Baptist Church Weston for 16 years. In that period, Jerry served in a number of leadership roles, including Chairman of Deacons, Chair of the Personnel Ministry and member of the Long-Range Planning Team. Yazmin led the Spanish language women’s Bible study and earned her Master of Theology degree at Knox Theological Seminary. Jerry and Yazmin currently reside in Fort Lauderdale and attend Rio Vista Community Church.
Through his church-serving experience, Jerry came to understand and has seen firsthand how the programs now used at Corpus can have an impact on revitalizing a church. When offered the opportunity to serve on the board, he enthusiastically accepted.
